The Tabletop Traveler – Intro
Hello there readers.
My name is Joe, and I’m a lead writer (among other things) for Starcalled Studios. To let you know a little bit about myself, I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs for over fifteen years now. Primarily I’ve played Dungeons and Dragons, but I’ve dipped my toes into just about everything. Bard is my favorite D&D class, and I’ve had a total of two legitimate character deaths in my career as a player. I run games as well as play in them, and I’ve run for over 50 different players as of the writing of this article. I am also an avid collector and reader of other RPG systems.
In addition to this I am a board game enthusiast as well as a bit of a movie buff. Over the following weeks (and hopefully beyond) I plan to bring you a long running series of blog posts here on the Starcalled Studios website. In these posts I plan to share with you my thoughts, opinions, stories, and impressions of the tabletop RPG world as I see it. I do not claim to be an expert in these areas in any way, just well-informed. Like most of you, I’m still on my journey to learn and grow my view of the tabletop world, hence the name of this series, Tabletop Traveler.
You can expect me to review new tabletop products as they’re released. I tend to have a more reserved review style but I still try to remain fair and call out faults when I see them. You’ll also hear my opinions on announcements in the tabletop industry such as upcoming releases, new IP’s, and other interesting things I find going on within the community as a whole. I’ll occasionally offer advice for budding gamers, GM’s, and players alike.
Finally, I have a few other unique little articles planned that should touch on some of the other things in the gaming world that I love! I’m excited to start this journey with you guys and I hope you are too. Look for my first real article in the coming days. It should be a bit longer than this one. That’s all for now, though.
Sincerely, -The Tabletop Traveler
