Koalari, The Curious Creatures of Sillirai

The koalari are an odd species. They live in communal groups high within the laris groves of Sillirai, rarely coming down to the forest floor to scavenge or roam unless in danger.

They are known for their brilliant jewel-toned fur and glassy eyes. Many tourists who visit the nation of Sillirai hope to catch a glimpse of these animals.

Koalari As Friends: Though rare, people have been known to make friends with koalari.

Some are curious little creatures who enjoy wandering across Sillirai for a time. While abroad koalari are only capable of sustaining themselves on the gems that come from laris trees, but multiple amari travelers have claimed that koalari can be sufficiently nourished by telepathically communicating with an amari who is bonded to a laris tree. Few communities of koalari live on the mainland in sizable groups due to the lack of laris groves abroad. One notable foreign family of koalari is found in the nation of Aurezia within the formidable laris groves of Castle Saneri.

Intelligence: Koalari are an extremely intelligent species.

They can stand upright and use crude tools if they wish, though few encounter them in their natural treetop homes. They can communicate telepathically with others of their kind as well as with humanoids, though in an animalistic language the people of Vathis do not understand. Otherwise, they are utterly silent. They are capable of imparting their general emotions and feelings with those they come into contact with.
